Rajasthan to introduce mobile app for tourist on World Tourism Day

On tourism day, the Rajasthan government will launch a mobile application for the convince of their tourists. The application is designed to felicitate the tourists who visit Rajasthan and it will be available on the Google play store as confirmed by a government official. The IOS version of the application will be made available in few weeks.

27th September 2021 marks the day as WORLD TOURISM DAY and the launch of the application will not only felicitate the tourist but will give real-time information. Schemes and a number of promotional activities will be available on the mobile app.

Nishant Jain, Director of Tourism Department said, "All information regarding tourist spots, modes of transport and other services will be available through the application... Users will be able to know if the local service provider is registered with the department".

According to the recent amendment bill passed by the Rajasthan Government, misbehaving with the tourist will be considered cognisable offense in the eyes of the government. If such things repeat the offence will be non-bailable. Tourism is the prime industry in Rajasthan and it witnesses lakhs of people every year. The step is taken because often tourists have complained about illegal activities and behaviour.

As per the new bill, anyone who is found committing the offense of touting shall be arrested even without a police warrant. You can be charged upto Rs.3, 00,000 and three years in prison and if the person is caught again, the punishment can go upto 7 years.

With the new mobile application, tourists will know if the local service provider has registered with the tourism department with the tap of the finger, adding their safety and security for reasons.
