With its rich diversity in rituals, dance, music, crafts, traditions, language, and literature, "Jharkhand "is bestowed with the 'City of Waterfalls', its own Capital. Perfect for a local leisurely holiday, Ranchi has to offer a mix of the waterfall, forests, valleys, and rivers. You can spend a perfect weekend in any of these places in peace. It's the hilly topography and geographical position that makes this one of the sought places on nature's lap to visit.

Hundru Falls

Located at a 45 km distance from the main city captivates tourists from the panoramic view of chotanagpur plateau. Famous for trekking and family outing at the picnic spot at the base of the spectacular waterfall. The uneven formation of the rocks due to erosion for years along with the greenery around the site, adds to the beauty of the waterfall formed from the river subarnarekha falling from the height of 320 ft. 

Rock Garden

One of the most visited places in the city, 'The Rock Garden' is built out of the sculptures carved out of rocks of Gonda Hills. With the Greenery and the magnificence of the endless horizon of the lake, the faux waterfalls are the best to spend some time in solitude. It also has a swing made of an iron rod. The garden is said to be inspired by the Rock garden of Jaipur which is world-famous for its beauty. 

Dassam Falls

34 Km from the Main city, situated on Ranchi-Tata Road, River Kachni falls here from the height of 144ft. The ideal picnic spot is also known as Dasham bagh. The best time to visit the waterfall is October to March when the minimum temperature almost falls to 1 degree celsius. While standing on this sight you can see 10 different streams falling with all its glory making way through the splendid rocks with the lush green bushes and trees surrounding the beauty of this waterfall. Dassam falls is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Ranchi.

Hirni Falls

If you start assuming shapes in everything by natural instinct, visiting Hirni falls would let you do it easily, and by the name you probably know what it'd be. The mountainside of the waterfall flaunts the shape of a wild Doe and Asia's largest sal forest, 'The Saranda Forest' begins from around here so you'd also get a view of splendid stretch of sal trees. The Ramgarha river falls from the height of 120 ft surrounded by the greenery offers tranquility and charm spending time at. 

Patratu valley

40 km away from the city, Patratu valley offers a breathtaking sight of patratu dam on one side and the uneven lush green expanse on the other. It is one of the most picturesque and adventurous places where you can catch the extraordinary  glimpse of winding roads and the glittering water. The best time to visit the valley is October to March, you can plan an amazing road trip to enjoy the beauty and serene ambience of this site as away from the rush and buzz of the city.

Tagore Hill

The 300 feet idyllic hill preserves the legacy of the noble laureate, Rabindranath Tagore. Sources claim that Tagore's family has associations or Tagore himself wrote parts of geetanjali sitting here, it is also said the elder brother of Tagore made this place his home after the death of his wife. 

It has been recently renovated and the view from the top of the hills are splendid and a best escape from the city noise to see some beautiful sunrise and sunset, let's you spend some quality time with your special ones.

There is graffiti made on huge Rocks and a home on top of the hill where Tagore's brother used to stay. It is situated in the city at Morabadi, 7 kms from the Railway station and 11 from the airport. 

State museum Hotwar

It is an Indian Cultural Museum that voices the rich cultural heritage of Jharkhand. It displays seven beautiful galleries classified that displays the tribal way of life. Previously known as ranchi museum converted into the state museum with an aim to preserve the centuries old archeological and historical heritage of the state. The museum also hosts a library of 300 people capacity with books upon the variety of subjects related to art and culture. The museum displays life-sized models describing physical features, instruments, attire, paintings, sculptural pieces of tribals of the early medieval period.
