Best Beef & Chicken in Doha

Last year, in October when I had landed in Doha for a week-long business trip, I didn’t expect food to become the highlight of my evenings. I had hectic meetings filled my days, but nights were for exploring. For the first day, I was a bed bug and ordered Pizzas straight away instead of trying Hotel’s dinner and after eating Beef pizza consecutively for two days, I thought to taste a few more and make a list of the best beef spots in Doha. Here are the food spots that I tried: from premium chains to local brands, here’s how my week unfolded, one restaurant at a time.

Day 1 – Pizza Hut Qatar

After a long first day, I wanted something familiar but indulgent. So, I went for the easiest option. Pizza Hut is widely available across Doha and I had ordered it from their website. They had two beef options: Dynamite Steak Pizza and the Carnivore Pizza. I ordered small sizes of both.

The Dynamite Steak surprised me. The beef strips were tender with a peppery kick, layered over melted mozzarella and a slightly spicy sauce that lingered without overpowering. It had that balance between bold and comforting. When I compare to many steak pizzas I’ve tried in Europe, this one leaned more toward Middle Eastern flavor depth, slightly spiced, not just salty.

The Carnivore pizza was heavier, stacked with beef, pepperoni, and smoky toppings. It’s unapologetically meaty. If you’re craving variety in one bite, this works. I ordered it with a bucket of their WingStreet chicken wings and ranch sauces. Overall, it was a tasteful experience.

Day 2 – Jones the Grocer (West Bay)

The next day, I visited Jones the Grocer, located in the gate mall, where I was visiting a friend. The spot feels upscale yet relaxed. The ambiance is calm, ideal for business dinners. I tried their wood-fired beef pizza alongside a grilled chicken dish. The beef quality was thinner than Pizza Hut but it came with a smoky char from the oven. The crust had that artisan chew. The grilled chicken was juicy, lightly seasoned, and felt like one of the more healthy beef chicken options Doha offers, less grease, more natural flavors. Most importantly, this one wins on crust sophistication but is lighter on bold seasoning compared to top pizza picks,.

Day 3 – Turkey Central Restaurant (Al Mirqab)

My friend told me that if I want authenticity, I must visit the Turkey Central Restaurant: one of the top beef chicken spots which the locals recommends too. I tried their mixed grill platter — a combination of beef kebabs and charcoal grilled chicken. The beef had a smoky crust with a soft interior, while the chicken was marinated in Middle Eastern spices and grilled over open flame. It’s casual dining, plastic chairs, busy tables, loud chatter, but the flavor is unforgettable. The taste was more traditional and protein-forward, no cheese blanket to hide behind — just pure meat flavor and Qatari taste.

Day 4 – Shake Shack (Villaggio Mall)

Midweek, I switched from Pizzas to burgers. Shake Shack’s beef burger was juicy and rich, while their chicken sandwich was crispy and well-balanced. It’s clearly part of Doha’s modern burger scene. Located in Villaggio Mall, the place looks polished, quick, and consistent — classic American style but fully adapted to halal chicken and beef Doha standards. Flavor-wise, I would say that the beef patty had more juiciness than many chain burgers I’ve had elsewhere in the Gulf. Still, it doesn’t beat the depth of grilled platters from Turkey Central but not a bad option if you want to dine-in once in a while.

Day 5 – Hunters Room & Grill (West Bay)

Location: The Westin Doha Hotel

For my last evening, I wanted something premium. Hunters Room specializes in steaks. The beef was perfectly medium-rare, juicy, and deeply flavorful. The Google search about the best beef places in Doha lead me to the Hunters Room and Grill, situated in the Westin Doha Hotel. As my days were ending in Doha, I wanted to explore as many places as possible. So I took the ride to the Hunters. The place had a luxurious ambiance: dim lighting, attentive service, and a calm environment. This was easily the best pure beef experience of my week. No toppings, no sauces hiding the meat — just quality. Compared to the other places, this wins in refinement and presentation and taste.

Walking into Hunters Room & Grill at The Westin in West Bay already sets expectations high. The dark wood interiors, leather seating, and open grill concept make you anticipate something serious about meat. I ordered a premium cut steak (medium-rare) and a slow-cooked beef short rib to understand both their grilling and slow-roasting technique.

The steak arrived with a beautifully caramelized crust — that deep brown sear you only get from high, controlled heat. The first cut told me everything: a warm red center, evenly cooked edge to edge, no grey banding. That alone shows technical precision. The outer crust had a smoky, slightly nutty char from the grill. From the Inside, the beef was buttery and clean-tasting — no overpowering seasoning. Each bite felt juicy without being greasy. The fat was rendered just enough to melt in the mouth but still provide texture. The peppercorn sauce served alongside added gentle heat and creaminess, but honestly, the steak didn’t need much. I found myself alternating between plain bites and lightly dipped ones just to appreciate the contrast.

For anyone who truly enjoys beef for its natural flavor — not just as part of a pizza or sandwich — this place stands in a different category.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4.8/5)

Final Thoughts

Over seven days, I realized Doha offers incredible diversity in beef and chicken dishes. From smoky beef pizza chains to traditional grills and fine dining steakhouses, there’s something for every budget and mood.

If you’re after bold, cheesy meat flavor — Pizza Hut’s Dynamite Steak or Carnivore pizza works well. For authentic Middle Eastern grills, Turkey Central is unbeatable. For premium steak lovers, Hunters Room is the clear winner.

Doha doesn’t just serve meat — it adapts global and regional flavors beautifully. Whether you prefer grilled platters, burgers, or pizza, the city delivers consistent quality with halal assurance.
