Introduction
Serene McLeodganj and Triund serve as an abode of peace away from the din and chaos of life in Delhi. An epitome of spiritual aura and scenic beauty, McLeodganj has at times been called "Little Lhasa." It's developed with a heavy Tibetan cultural influence as the home of the 14th Dalai Lama.
A few km south is Triund, claimed to be no lesser than a trekker's paradise and another famous spot for the expansive views of the Dhauladhar range.
It is going to be such a perfect mix of adventure and tranquility that people in pursuit of peace or adventure are sure to find it an ideal place to make a quick escape. Be it the jostling through the alleys of McLeodganj, be it the spiritual aura of the monasteries that catches one's fancy, or be it the treks along the scenic trails leading to Triund itself, it is undoubtedly a rejuvenating break from the everyday hustle.
Mcleodganj and Triund can be visited at any point during the year. Still, the best time is from March to June and September to November since, by then, one can pretty much expect the weather to be moderate and transparent, providing one of the best trekking conditions.

This is supposed to be the most significant Tibetan temple outside Tibet itself: the Namgyal Monastery. Do not miss the spinning prayer wheels and the deep chants.

Triund Trek is the most exciting and famous in the state of Himachal Pradesh, which gives the viewer a view of the Dhauladhar range and the Kangra valley. This is a moderate trek and can be done by beginners and experienced trekkers. Travel Details: Entry Point: McLeodganj or Dharamkot. Dharamkot is the most preferred starting point by many trekkers. Trek Distance: this trek is measured to be around 9 km from McLeodganj and 6 km from Dharamkot. Time: The trek usually takes 4-6 hours to reach the top of Triund.
The trek starts with the initial climbs through the forested trails with rhododendron, oak, and deodar.
Short rest at the famous place 'Magic View Cafe' for a small snack while admiring the spectacular view.
On top of Triund, you will have an incredible panoramic view: the gigantic Dhauladhar range on one side and the sprawling Kangra Valley on the other. This is an extraordinary vision with the snow peaks towering—laying in the background all the time—above a clear blue sky.
By far, the most happening thing about the trek is the camping site at Triund. Of course, by the order of priority, tents are available for rent there; one can't desire something better than spending a night under the starlit sky here. It would be a good idea to have some warm clothes along with you, as it can be pretty cold there at night.
The journey from Delhi to McLeodganj and then to the trek to Triund is precisely like the perfect escapade into this serenity and adventurism that nature has laid in front of us. McLeodganj, with its heritage and tranquil monasteries, happens to be that runaway, too, while the trek to the Triund is an adventure into really difficult panoramas of the mighty Dhauladhar range. It is a journey from peace to exhilaration, offering a balanced blend of spiritual enlightenment and physical exhilaration.
