Itinerary For The Indrahar Pass Trek


Day 1: begin trekking from Dharamkot to reach Triund Top

You will start trekking early morning and today you will trek for around 9 km to reach the Triund top. The duration of this trek will be around 4-5 hours. Day 2: from Triund top to Laka Got 

Today you will trek from Triund Top to Laka Got, this is the second day and today’s trekking distance will be around 6 km. Today you will pass through dense forests and Lush green meadows while enjoying the views of mountains and valleys. There are chances to encounter local wildlife like Wild Goats, Himalayan Langurs, and Musk deer. After this long trek, you will reach the Laka Got campsite located at a height of 3,500 meters. This spot is great for all the trekkers who love camping amidst the mountains. Camping here allows spending a night under the sky full of stars along with great views of the mountains. 


Day 3: Embark on your journey Towards Indrahar Pass from Laka and Back To Laka 

On the third day of this trek, you are going to have an exciting and challenging trekking experience. Start the trek early in the morning towards the Indrahar Pass. Located at an altitude of 4,342 metres. You will trek through a steep trail and it will take around 6-7 hours to reach the pass. Spend some time, enjoy the views, and start trekking back to Laka. you will face the same challenges as ascending during the descent. Reach the Laka campsite by evening and pitch your camps for the stay. 


Day 4: Trek Back to Dharamkot from Laka 

This is the final trekking day which includes walking for 12 km and the climb is a bit challenging. while trekking today you will pass through a beautiful village named Chamba. This village is famous for traditional handicrafts and ancient Hindu Temples. The total journey will be of around 5 to 6 hours and you will complete this trek by afternoon. For this trek, you need a good fitness level and it can be done by both beginners and experienced trekkers.


Ideal Time For The Indrahar Pass Trek 

The most preferred time for trekking to the Indrahar Pass is from May to june and september to October. During the early months, you might find snow on higher altitudes which melted by August. There is heavy rain in the Kangra and Dhauladhar ranges during the monsoon season but you will find warm and sunny weather at higher places. Between september to October, the weather is pleasant with light snowfall, making it ideal for trekking.
