Mount Arafat

Mount Arafat is one of the most spiritual site in Islam. It is located approximately 20 kilometers southern of Mecca. This is a place where The Holy prophet (PBUH) delivered his last farewell speech to over one lac pilgrims during his last Hajj.   

Mount Arafat is totally full with pilgrims during the season of Hajj. When the millions of Muslims gather here in unity, they perform prayers, and have a deep reflection. Although standing in Arafat is not part of Umrah but many pilgrim visit this place for knowing their history, value of unity and forgiveness in the Prophet’s sermon.

Masjid al-Jinn

Masjid al-Jinn is the oldest and interesting mosque in Mecca, located near just north of the Grand mosque. This site holds a special place in Islamic tradition due to a significant event mentioned in Quran and Hadith. Where a group of Jinn, being created from smokeless fire, came to listen to Holy Prophet (PBUH) reciting the Quran. After hearing its divine message, they accept Islam and pledged allegiance to the Prophet (PBUH). This moment is described in Surah al-Jinn of the Quran.

The mosque was built to remember this unexpected event, and its simple yet historical structure attracts many pilgrim who seek to the reflection of Allah’s creation. Unlike other mosques in Mecca, Masjid al-Jinn is modest in design but its spiritual importance is reflective.

Jannat al-Mu’alla

Jannat al-Mu’alla is known as Al-Hajun cemetery, is one of the most respected and historically significant burial ground in the Islamic world. Located just a short distance north of Masjid al-Haram, this cemetery is the final resting place of many beloved family members of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

In this cemetery, the most honored graves is that of Kadijah bint Khuwaylid, the first wife of Holy Prophet (PBUH). She stood with Prophet (PBUH) in the hardest and earlier time of the Prophethood. The other relative’s graves in this cemetery including the grandfather of the Prophet (PBUH) Abdul Muttalib and his uncle Abu Talib.

Jannat al-Mu’alla is not just a cemetery; it is a site of deep spiritual and emotional reflection. Visiting this sacred place allows pilgrim to remember the struggles, sacrifices, and strength of those who laid the details of Islam. Although generally entry into the cemetery is restricted. Many pilgrim visit this place after performing Umrah rituals and stand outside the door to make Duas.
