City life can feel heavy sometimes. The noise, traffic, and endless schedules make it hard to pause and breathe. For me, nature has always been my escape. The forests, hills, and streams help me slow down, think, and reconnect with myself. Thatâs why I planned a single-day trek to Tadiandamol with my friend Meera â a short adventure that promised both challenge and serenity.
We started from Bangalore very early, around 5 AM, and drove towards Siddapura, the base village for Tadiandamol trek. The drive was scenic, passing through coffee plantations, mist-covered hills, and small streams along the way. By 9 AM, we reached the base, parked our car, and met our local guide. The village was quiet and green, surrounded by hills, and the fresh air felt instantly refreshing.
After a quick breakfast and some stretching, we started walking along the trail. The initial path went through coffee plantations, gradually leading into dense forests. The trail was moderately steep, but the cool breeze, chirping birds, and smell of wet soil made the trek enjoyable. We paused often to take photos and admire the rolling hills and misty valleys around us.
By late morning, we reached Tadiandamol Peak, the highest point in Coorg. The clouds floated around us, and the panoramic view of the Western Ghats was breathtaking. We rested for a while, took pictures, and had a light snack while soaking in the peaceful surroundings. Standing on the peak, feeling the wind and clouds around me, made all the effort worth it.
After spending some time at the summit, we began our descent. Walking down was easier on the legs, but we stayed cautious on the slippery patches. By 3 PM, we reached the base village. We had lunch at a small local eatery and reflected on the day during the drive back. Even in just a single day, the trek felt rejuvenating and rewarding.
The Tadiandamol trek reminded me that even a short escape into nature can recharge your mind and spirit. The forests, hills, and clouds offered peace, adventure, and a sense of freedom. If city life ever feels overwhelming, I would say â spend a day trekking in Coorg, walk the Tadiandamol trail, and let the hills show you the beauty of simplicity and serenity.
