Coffee with syrup: types of syrup and method of preparation

Despite the many ways of preparation, sometimes the taste of coffee in its pure form can become boring even for true gourmets. To diversify the taste palette, baristas around the world began to experiment with various additives: from milk and cinnamon to sweet syrups and strong alcohol. Therefore, if you want something unusual, be sure to try coffee with one of the syrups.

Coffee with syrup is a popular choice among young people, as the usual cappuccino and latte no longer inspire enthusiasm. We recommend trying natural coffee with syrup for all lovers of special drinks.

In what proportions should syrup be added?

Remember that some coffee additives are too sweet. So, do not forget about the proportions, so as not to spoil the taste of the drink. The amount of syrup depends on the volume of the coffee itself: if it is espresso, add a teaspoon of syrup, if the glass volume is more than 200 ml, you can increase the amount of syrup to 5 spoons, and if you are preparing a coffee cocktail, feel free to add 6-7 spoons.

Be sure to note that each syrup contains a different percentage of fructose, which affects its sweetness. It is difficult to say how much syrup to add to coffee, so the best advice is to experiment. First, add a spoonful of syrup and taste the drink: if it is not sweet enough, you can add more.

Coffee with syrup is a tasty drink, but it is better not to drink it often. The thing is that syrups are high in calories. 100 ml of syrup contains about 200-300 calories.

Nutritionists recommend that lovers of this drink limit themselves to 1-2 cups of the drink per day (unless, of course, you don’t want consequences for your health and figure).

Recipes for making coffee with different syrups

Today there are more than 80 types of syrups for making coffee, so lovers of unusual drinks will find it interesting to experiment.

Classic: Coffee with syrup

For 1 serving of this drink, you will need:

  • a teaspoon of ground coffee;
  • 100 ml milk or cream;
  • a few ice cubes;
  • 20 ml syrup.

Brew Turkish coffee, strain it, pour it into a shaker, add the remaining ingredients and shake the mixture. Then pour the drink into a glass and you can try it.

Cuban coffee

The drink is easy to prepare, with a minimum of ingredients. You will need a couple of spoons of brewed coffee and 10 ml of syrup.

First, pour the syrup into an espresso cup, then brew coffee in a Turk, strain it and add it to the cup with the syrup.

That's all: Cuban coffee ready!

Iced coffee

You will need a similar set of ingredients as for the classic coffee with syrup recipe: 20 ml syrup, 75 ml milk, a few ice cubes, a glass of latte.

Prepare latte in a coffee machine or a Turk, add cream. When the latte cools down, add syrup. Next, take a glass, put ice cubes in it, pour cold milk and add latte with syrup.

Coffee with caramel

To prepare the drink, you will need: espresso, 40 ml of caramel syrup and half a glass of orange juice. First, prepare the espresso in a Turk, cool it, strain it and pour it into a tall glass. Then add the caramel syrup and orange juice. Stir the contents of the glass and that's it - the drink is ready.

Coffee with ice cream

To prepare the drink you will need more ingredients than for other varieties of coffee with syrup. You will need:

  • a spoonful of coffee;
  • 25 ml chocolate syrup;
  • a glass of milk;
  • 60 grams of ice cream (by the way, you can experiment and brew coffee with coffee ice cream);
  • chocolate (added optional);
  • a few ice cubes (optional);
  • 70 g cream.

Prepare a portion of Turkish coffee. Next, you need to beat the ice with a blender, add coffee, chocolate syrup, milk and ice cream. To get the finished drink, beat the contents of the glass again for a few minutes. Then you can pour the drink into a glass, decorate the coffee with cream and grated chocolate.

Orange coffee

You will need: a tablespoon of ground coffee, caramel syrup, 120 ml of freshly squeezed orange juice.

Making the drink is simple: take a glass and pour in the caramel syrup. Next, use a bar spoon to pour orange juice on top so that the syrup and juice are layered. Brew strong coffee, strain it and carefully add it to the drink so that a third layer appears.

Coffee with vanilla

The drink is prepared similarly to all syrups, only the ingredients are used in different proportions. You will need 4 tablespoons of vanilla syrup, 2 tablespoons of milk, 2 teaspoons of coffee.

First, brew the coffee, strain it and cool it. Then pour the coffee into a glass, add milk and syrup. Mix the contents and that's it, the drink is ready.

Coffee with ice cream and syrup

To prepare the drink you will need:

  • cold brew coffee;
  • ice cream;
  • 2-3 tablespoons chocolate syrup;
  • teaspoon chopped candy;
  • 2 tablespoons cream.

One ice cream is enough for two coffees, so divide it into two parts and put it in glasses. Then add chocolate syrup and coffee, pour cream on top and add lollipops.

Coffee with maple syrup

But coffee with maple syrup is more difficult to prepare. You will need:

  • 100 g milk;
  • 100 g water;
  • 2 tablespoons coffee beans;
  • tablespoon maple syrup;
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch;
  • 2 teaspoons chocolate;
  • 4 teaspoons powdered sugar;

The first thing you need to do is prepare the topping for decorating the coffee. Take powdered sugar, grated and melted chocolate, cocoa, cornstarch, water and mix all the ingredients. Then put it all in a Turk and put it on the fire. When the mixture begins to thicken, remove the Turk from the fire. Then wait until the topping cools down and pour it into a container with a thin spout so that it is easy to draw patterns.

The next part is making coffee. First things first coffee beans grind in a coffee grinder and brew espresso. Pour maple syrup into the bottom of a glass, add cocoa foam with a spoon, pour in hot chocolate, add topping.

Coffee with syrup is a great drink to lift your mood. Remember that there is a wide range of syrups, so don't stop at one and keep experimenting.
